Welcome to the show,
Mr. Jack Black. – Hello, Jack Black.
– Greetings. Thanks for being
right here. Are you kidding me?
Thank you for having me. It’s a mythical welcome. All right, here’s
how this is going to work. We have two Santa hats.
I have one of them. – Rhett, you have
the other one over there.
– Yes, I do. In one hat we have regular old, boring
Christmas songs. – This hat.
– In the other hat, we have royalty-free
instrumental tracks, totes legal… – Oh.
– …for us to use from our music library. Oh, it’s hard for me to decide
which one to reach into. Do I have a choice? – Well, no…
– No, you gotta do both. – Oh, got it.
– We’re gonna reach in– We’re gonna take turns
reaching into both. – Cool.
– Put that together in order to create
a fantastic new
Christmas song. – Oh, that’s exciting.
– No warm up. – No rehearsal.
– Yeah. No planning. – We keep it rough.
– You excited? – Yes.
– Sound good? I feel good about this. Okay,
and I’m gonna go first, and I’m going to grab
my Christmas song. – Okay.
– Seems like he kind of peeked. – Don’t peek, man.
– Okay. Looked like you kind of looked
at– yeah, there you go. And then–
so what is that? The picking police,
over here. “Joy To The World.” – Boring.
– Yeah, that’s
what I was gonna say. And… no peeks. My song is going to be “Seattle Grunge.” Seattle grunge style. – Here we go.
– Go for it, Rhett. Hit it. ( drums, bass playing ) ♪ Oh, yeah ♪ ♪ Oh, yeah ♪ ♪ Joy to the world ♪ ♪ The Lord is come ♪ ♪ Let earth receive her King ♪ – ( grunge guitar playing )

in a really unusually
expected way. – Like a zombie dance.
– I think we may have– we may have a Christmas hit
on our hands. – Yeah.
– Yeah, we do. Okay, Link, your turn, bruh. – Me second. All right.
– Oh, man. Here we go. – Oh, this is–
– Can you go out of order? This is the style. – Okay.
– So the style is called “Opening Night.” Is that a style? – I think that’s the name
of the track.
– Opening– “Opening Night”
is the name of the track. – These are just names
of tracks.

“When is it gonna drop?” That was one of those,
as soon as you started, we knew it was, like,
Broadway style. That’s what “Opening Night”
meant. – Now we know what it means.
– Wow. – Okay, Jack.
– 1950s Broadway. And then it got crazy
blasphemous at the end. – Okay, here we go. Ready?
– Christmas songs on this side. – I like to shake them up.
– Shake it. What song
are you gonna change up? I’m excited. “Twelve Days of Christmas.” This is a powerful gem that
I was thinking about today ’cause what if there were– nobody celebrates
all twelve days. I don’t even know
what that means. That would be
a lot of presents. Everyone only celebrates
the one day of Christmas. And if you’re half Jewish
and half Christian, like me, that’s 20 days
of presents, bruh. – Pace yourself.
– Okay, “Twelve Days
of Christmas” plus “Lovin’ Chill.” “Loving Chill.” And as we know, I don’t need to know
what that means. – Right.
– Mm-hm. – I’ll find out
when the music starts.

  1. OMG! That Sillent Night is so much better this way! I would listen to this cover all year round! 🤘🎅😈

  2. They need to do a Christmas album and include the songs sung by Rhett specifically. I would totally buy that album

  3. Link I'm sorry to say but when you don't know what your singing you really just make me want to bash my face with a hammer. Love your normal music but please never do this again haha

  4. 8:32
    (I don't remember this part-)

  5. rhett's joy to the world got a whole pearl jam meets alice in chains meets tool vibe to it, and i absolutely love it

  6. I think this is how the song, “Make it Jingle” was made, someone was singing the normal song then went crazy

  7. Wow I was really hoping to hear heavy metal man version because that toy version was a trip metal march sufficed though

  8. OK, totally amazed me with ALL of their singing talents. Rhett should be a professional singer.
And of course this is like Jacks fave kinda improv thing, he is always good at this sort of thing. Lol
I had just noticed that Jack has been on their channel quite a few times and these shows just started coming up in my suggestion list. I knew he had been on here but not so many times as it shows now.
